For those who don't want to sit through the entire podcast episode, here's the Executive Summary:
If you or someone you love has a uterus and they are complaining of changes in their menstrual cycles, heavy bleeding, fatigue, unknown / mysterious malaise, here's what needs to be done:
- Ask your medical providers to perform an ultrasound of your pelvis and order BOTH Iron AND Ferritin blood tests. You MUST specifically ask for the Ferritin test (especially if you're in a system like Kaiser).
- If your provider refuses to comply with your request, tell them to DOCUMENT in your medical file that they are REFUSING your request. And, find a new provider if you can.
- Trust your body's wisdom.
Do not let the medical industrial complex gaslight you or anyone you love.
