Today's episode is sponsored by:

S2E3: You‘re Powerful AF Part 1
Thursday Feb 25, 2021
Thursday Feb 25, 2021
Did you know that you are powerful af?
I mean, really, truly, you are powerful.
So why is it that sometimes you don't feel that way?
Why is it that imposter syndrome can creep up on you, planting seeds of doubt, leading you to question the choices you make and therefore how powerful you are?
Because, living under the colonial, capitalist, white supremacist, contemptuous patriarchy, we're taught to shut down everything that makes us powerful — which is everything that makes us human and woman.
In this episode, which is part 1 of a mini-series on how powerful you are, we start to explore what some of that power is and how you can get it back.
Today I also make a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
The waitlist for The Sanctuary for BIPOC Women in Leadership is officially open! This is a space for women like you and me to come together and be in community with others who understand the challenges we face AND how we can shift out of challenge into triumph.
The community is being built based on what YOUR needs are. When you join the waitlist, you'll have an opportunity to share your voice on what your biggest challenges are and what you need from The Sanctuary.
Visit www.bipocsanctuary.com to join the waitlist.

S2E2: The Power Within You with Guest Krishna Avalon
Thursday Feb 18, 2021
Thursday Feb 18, 2021
What if you knew that you didn't have to show up armored up and ready to defend yourself all the time? What if you understood that you can be strong and gentle at the same time? And what if it were possible for you to find fierceness in your gentleness?
These are just some of the topics our first guest of Season 2, Krishna Avalon, and I dig into in this episode.
We also talk about being a Brown girl in an all white family, in an all white town, in an all white state, and how that impacted Krishna's identity, and what she needed to return to in order to heal from her experiences.
Krishna shares about the wisdom contained within our bodies and how breathwork is a simple and effective way to clear trauma quickly and efficiently.
Tune in to hear us dive deep into these topics and so much more.
You can connect with Krishna on her website at https://krishnaavalon.com/ and on Instagram @krishnaavalon

S2E1: Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes
Thursday Feb 11, 2021
Thursday Feb 11, 2021
We're back for a brand new season of the Fierce Authenticity Podcast!
In this episode your hostess, Shirani M. Pathak, relationship therapist, author, speaker, coach, consultant, and transformational leader, re-introduces herself and what this podcast is about this season (with permission to be imperfect and change her mind).
Over the break there's been some clarity coming through and the podcast is shifting to primarily speak to the experiences of BIPOC women in leadership.
We BIPOC women are powerful beings, but, the toxic white supremist patriarchal structure we live in would like us to believe otherwise. So, for this next season, we're talking about human relationships, emotional intelligence, authentic leadership, and how our culture of patriarchy, supremacy, and contempt impacts the way we allow ourselves to show up in the world.
One major change of importance this season is that Love Note episodes will no longer be available on the public podcast. Love Notes are the short permission slips and healing practices that accompany solo episodes.
This season Love Notes will only be available as a bonus to members of the private Fierce Authenticity Newsletter Community. The community is completely free and in addition to Love Notes, you'll also receive community only invites to quarterly Coffee Dates and Ask Me Anything sessions, and invitations to other programs, services, and offers before anyone else.
To join the private Fierce Authenticity Newsletter Community, head on over to www.fierceauthenticity.com/starthere (and be sure to check the button that says "Yes, I want to receive emails from you.") Email consent is important to me and I promise not to abuse your inbox.
I'm excited to dive into a new season with you!
Oh, and PS: If you know a bad ass BIPOC woman in leadership, pass this podcast along to her. Together we all rise.

26.0 Celebrating 2020
Thursday Dec 31, 2020
Thursday Dec 31, 2020
Today is the last day of what seems like the longest year of our lives, 2020. And though when the clock turns midnight on Jan 1, 2021 isn't going to magically change everything that's wrong, we can still take time to digest the year we've had.
2020 got a bad rap, and yet when we take the time to reflect, we can see the many gifts this year brought us:
-Illuminating outdated systems and structures that needed to crumble
-Illuminating racial and social inequities from 400+ years ago that still operate today
-Allowing us to reflect on what really matters
-Racial healing
-And, this podcast!
Tune in to today's episode to hear more celebrations of 2020, including the ways you, my listener, are part of my celebration of this year!
As a heads up: we're taking a break from releasing new episodes in Jan 2021 as we prepare for what's next, so tune in to today's episode and then take time to catch up on what you've missed.
Be well and Happy 2021!

24.0 Two Brown Girls and a Mic with Special Guest Nisha Mody
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
In today's guest interview, powerhouse Nisha Mody and I sit down as two South Asian American women with mics and visit so many healing places.
Nisha and I talked about colorism. We talked about oppression. We talked about the caste system and how that and colorism go together. We talked about anti-blackness. We talked about the way the South Asian community has been brought into the anti-blackness as a result of colonization ,and many many more powerful things.
One of the things that I loved most about our conversation, in addition to the total raw, authentic vulnerability and the fierce authenticity of our conversation, is at the very end, when we talked about what is it that gets in the way of most South Asians and the South Asian community speaking up about racism, anti-blackness and other social justice issues and creating a greater, more equitable environment.
We got curious about why that is?
Listen in to hear the answer. ;)
If you want to experience a shift in your perspective so that you can make a greater impact, this episode is for you!
You can connect with Nisha over on Instagram @healinghypegirl and learn more about her Healing Hype Community over at https://www.thehealinghype.com/
The Audre Lorde article Nisha mentions can be read by clicking here.
