Shirani M. Pathak teaches you how to have amazing relationships by doing one simple thing: dismantling supremacy’s internalized oppression and conditioning. Though it’s simple, it may not be easy. Tune in to learn how perfectionism, imposter syndrome, judgement, criticism, comparison (aka comparisonitis), fear of failure, inadequacy and the “not enoughs” hold you back from the amazing relationships you desire. In this podcast I‘m illuminating how what you‘re feeling is a result of what we’ve been programmed to believe living under supremacy culture’s systems of oppression, and offer solutions to help you heal from supremacy‘s sneaky conditioning. I cover topics of racism, relationships, emotional intelligence, relational intelligence, neuroscience, the nervous system, intergenerational trauma, epigenetics, spirituality, authentic leadership, alcoholism, addiction, abuse, violence and so much more. Thursday Jun 11, 2020
Thursday Jun 11, 2020
Why do you feel tense, on edge, and kind of like a hot mess right now in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic AND in the wake of George Floyd? Because of collective trauma. In this episode you will learn what collective trauma is, where it lives, and why it's being activated right now. I'll also introduce you to the work of Resmaa Menakem, author of the book My Grandmother's Hands. You can learn about Resmaa, his book, and his free class over at https://www.resmaa.com

1.1 Love Note: Permission to Mess It Up
Thursday Jun 04, 2020
Thursday Jun 04, 2020
Welcome to your first love note: The permission to mess it up.
If you need a quick reminder that you're going to mess it up when you start having the difficult conversations, and the permission to mess it up and do it anyway, then this love note is for you.
In times like now, the worst thing we can do is say nothing because we are in fear. We need to give ourselves permission to mess it up, and do our own anti-racism work.
Listen. Read. Learn. And then, speak up.
There are many black bodied individuals who are out there, sharing stories, educating people, that you can learn from.
Oh, and you can also start at home: by asking your black friends and colleagues how they are doing, and then truly taking the time to genuinely listen.
This isn't the time for us to do nothing. This is the time to listen, learn, and speak up.
Here's your permission to do it imperfectly.
If someone you know could benefit from today's short message, please share this episode with them. Also, if you're enjoying what you're hearing, be sure to subscribe, rate and review the podcast. That's how others can learn about it.
